Background
Son of S C Mallaiah, S M Krishna is the former chief minister of Karnataka and former Governor of Maharashtra. He completed his Bachelor's in Arts from Maharaja's College, Mysore and obtained a Law degree from Government Law College, Bangalore.Krishna studied in the United States, graduating from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Krishna is an avid sportsperson and plays tennis regularly. Krishna resigned as Governor of Maharastra on March 5, 2008 reportedly due to his intention to return to active politics in Karnataka.
