Facts at a Glance

Inflation in India is measured by the Wholesale Price Index as opposed to Consumer Price Index in most other nations of the world. One reason why this seems to be so is the availability of WPI numbers on a weekly basis and the absence of a retail price index measured at such a high frequency.
